FAQ

Every piece we create is handcrafted from reclaimed hardwood sourced from the Bay Area. We work with a variety of beautiful species, including olive, walnut, carob, magnolia, maple, coast live oak, valley oak, maple, and linden (lime) wood. Because each piece of wood has its own history, grain pattern, and natural character, no two items are exactly alike.

Our products are made one-by-one and finished by hand using non-toxic, food-safe oils, creating heirloom-quality pieces designed to be enjoyed for years to come.

Reclaimed wood comes from trees that have been removed due to age, weather, development, safety concerns, or natural causes. Rather than allowing these trees to become waste, the wood has been carefully salvaged. We transform the wood into handcrafted home goods and gifts.

Using reclaimed wood helps reduce waste while preserving the beauty and story of each tree.

All of our products are handcrafted and packaged in San Jose, California by our husband-and-wife team. All of our wood has been sourced in the Bay Area.

We primarily work with reclaimed Bay Area hardwoods, including:

  • California Olive
  • Maple
  • California Black Walnut
  • Carob
  • Magnolia
  • Coast Live Oak
  • Valley Oak
  • Maple
  • Linden (Lime)

You can learn more about each species in our Wood Guide.

Yes. All of our wood products are finished with food-safe oils that are suitable for everyday household use.

As with any natural wood product, proper care will help preserve its beauty and longevity.

We use non-toxic, food-safe finishes on our products. However, children should always be supervised when using any toy, utensil, or household item.

Please inspect products regularly for signs of wear and discontinue use if damage occurs.

To keep your wooden items looking their best:

  • Hand wash only with mild soap and warm water.
  • Do not place wooden items in the dishwasher.
  • Do not soak in water.
  • Dry promptly after washing.
  • Reapply a food-safe oil as needed to maintain the wood’s natural luster.
